The church of Saint Pierre once depended on the abbey of Guîtres. Built in stone around 1020, 1170 and between the 1836th and XNUMXth centuries, it is therefore of several styles, the choir, the apse and the bell tower are Romanesque, the nave is Gothic. A side aisle forming a chapel, where is placed the altar of the Virgin was added to the north at the end of the XNUMXth century and the west door in XNUMX. The choir and the chapel were fortified during the Wars of Religion.
You will also be able to notice above the door of the sacristy an oil on canvas dated 1622. It would have been given to the church in 1642 by the Bordeaux school.
Its stone portal is remarkable: carved between 1110 and 1130, it is the celebrity of this church. The style of the tympanum, the originality of the theme represented, make it a unique work.
