Located on the remains of a fortified camp built by Charlemagne in 769, at the top of a limestone plateau, the Château de la Rivière dominates the Dordogne valley and offers you a breathtaking view of its eponymous river and its 65 hectares of vines. .

It was from the XNUMXth century that Gaston De l'Isle, Mayor of Bordeaux and also Lord of La Rivière, seized the land and had the body of the Château built. Redesigned in the XNUMXth century by Duthoit, a student of the renowned architect Viollet Le Duc, the property will then pass into the hands of several notable families who will each mark the history of the Château.

Producer of two red wines in the Fronsac appellation, a white wine and a rosé wine in the Bordeaux appellation, Château de La Rivière is today the largest estate in the Fronsac appellation.
